Our Philosophy
Welcome to RetireNavigator Studio.
Like many of you, this entire journey started with a single, deeply personal question:
"Am I going to be okay in retirement?"
Planning isn't rigidity — it's preparing for possibilities and baking in optionality. And that's genuinely hard to do well. Planning a single weeklong vacation is tough enough. Planning a third of your life is on another level entirely.
The theme park problem
Think about taking a weeklong vacation to a major theme park in the United States. To really get the most out of it, you plan: when to wake up, which parks to visit on which days, which ride sequences avoid the worst crowds, when the parades run, and when to take an afternoon hotel break so the kids don't crash. Done well, that plan is the difference between a magical week and an exhausting one.
Now picture winging the same trip with no plan at all: long lines, wasted hours, missed opportunities. Frustrating — but recoverable. You can always book another trip next year.
Retirement doesn't offer that grace. You don't have the luxury of extending the trip by another week. Those statutory windows — a Roth conversion corridor, a Social Security claiming date, an IRMAA cliff — are costly to miss and hard to recover.
Compounding this is the reality of timing itself. While over two-thirds of workers plan to work until 65 or beyond, the median actual retirement age in the United States is 62 (Employee Benefit Research Institute / Greenwald Research, Retirement Confidence Survey) — with nearly half of early workforce departures forced by health events, corporate downsizing, or family caregiving (EBRI Retirement Confidence Survey findings). Real planning isn't assuming a best-case glide path; it's building a financial structure resilient enough to withstand leaving the workforce three years ahead of schedule without derailing your security.
What started as a private project to answer that question for our own families gradually grew into something much bigger: an interactive "what-if" decumulation workbench built to guide spending, optimize distributions, and catch the costly statutory gotchas before they happen. After sharing it with friends and seeing how much clarity it brought them, it became clear this shouldn't stay on a private desktop.

What we believe
Not mutually exclusive. Most of us lean on calculators, spreadsheets, and professional advisors to make sense of our future. Our goal is simply to answer the questions you have while surfacing the critical tax and cash-flow realities you might not have known to ask.
A partner to human expertise, not a substitute.
Anyone who has spent a weekend painting a room, detailing a car, or polishing a boat knows you don’t grab a single bottle off the shelf and expect a showroom finish. You use specialized compounds for the prep, fine polishes to bring out the depth, and protective sealants to guard against the elements. Each product does what it was engineered to do, working in concert—and none of them replace the person with their hands on the buffer or brush.
That is exactly how retirement planning works. Other tools and spreadsheets have their place in the kit, but most importantly, no software replaces the trusted human professionals in your life. An algorithm can model tax brackets and calculate break-even curves down to the penny, but it cannot know your family dynamics, offer empathy, or apply seasoned fiduciary judgment. Your CPA, CFP®, or tax professional is the one you trust when the stakes are real.
RetireNavigator Studio simply ensures you show up to those meetings with clear, organized answers instead of a shoebox of question marks. It gives you the agency to test scenarios privately on your own terms, transforming you from a passive listener into an informed, confident partner in your own retirement.
Own your software. Start free with Navigator Essentials—no account needed—then upgrade to Navigator Pro / Studio with a one-time, perpetual license. A full year of feature releases and statutory updates is included, followed by an optional $49/year Feature & Statutory Pass.
